Colors of the Autumn: Brown

This is my final installation of my Colors of the Autumn, and I decided to post it earlier, because I could not wait to show you the last color: Brown! This was my favorite collage to make out of all of them, because brown is such an essential color. I guess many people wouldn't think of it as the prettiest or their favorite color, but it definitely deserves more attention than it gets. So here's an entire post dedicate to it. You can also see how I recently wore this lovely color in my recent outfit post.

Grids & Roses

I absolutely love the oh so beautiful 3D rose sweaters from American Apparel. I see them everywhere, and with it off the shoulder and paired with a pleated skirt, I cannot resist, but I also have to tell myself no, you are not paying $80 for that sweater that, let's be honest, probably isn't very warm and winter appropriate. So I actually got this similar one from Forever 21, and I convinced myself that I am happy enough with this (almost) 3D rose sweater.

I paired it with my favorite black asymmetric zipper jacket, a gold triangle necklace from Portals and Prisms, and black pants. I love all triangular and geometric jewelry, super interesting and fun. I'm all for it.

Colors of the Autumn: Purple

Happy Black Friday! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends, and an eventful safe Black Friday. I was able to buy a new laptop! Hooray, considering how long I've been using my old broken one that I dropped and cracked, I think it was about time I got a new one.

Onto our latest installment of autumn color trends: purple! Below I have some of my favorite purple pieces, especially that rich velvet skirt. I think it'd look fantastic with black tights and a comfy sweater. I'm also loving the leather jacket. It's definitely a step away from the usual black jackets, but a great investment piece.

Mind Games

I know, it's been quite a while, probably too long, since I have post an outfit, which used to be all I posted. A lot happened, but long story short: I lost my camera cable, so I had to buy a new camera! It's still a basic ole' point and shoot since I don't have the money to fork out for a nice camera, but the quality should be much better. And I just had to post an outfit, considering this is my 100th POST!
Thanks to those who stuck with me. Now, onto the outfit: I recently got this cool top, with a double collar printed on with interesting mesh detailing, kind of tricks your eye into thinking the shirt actually has collars, which I like. And heyy, the stripes on my cardigan match my top! Point for Cathy!

Kate Spade 2012 Fall Bags

I'm sure many of you probably came across this as well on It's Camille Co's recent blog post, but I could not resist the incredible clutch she was holding. I had to dedicate a full on post about it, as well as some of my other favorite bags from the Kate Spade 2012 Fall Collection.
I am speechless. Cannot formulate words to describe the amount of want I have for this. So I will let the pictures talk for themselves. (And links are below, if you have the money to buy one of these babies.)

Colors of Autumn: Cobalt Blue

Bright blue isn't your typical fall color, but pairing it with the military trend, such as the blazer with gold buttons, or the athletic trend, such as the sneaker wedge, makes it much more appropriate.

Sorry the intro is a little short, just finishing up my college apps, and I wanted to get this up for you guys. But yes, go blue guys.

Check out other "Colors of the Autumn" colors: TanBurgundyOrange, and Olive Green.

Behind the Photos: Camera Man

Hehe, so this will just be a quick fun little post.
Not every blogger has a talented photographer boyfriend to help them take pictures, so I'll take them myself or have my brother take them! Often, I will show him how I want certain pictures taken, like specific angles or close up detailed shots, or if I want to test to see how the lighting will look, by making him stand and pose, while I take the pictures. Does that make sense? It's basically like reverse blogger - camera man. So without further chit chat, here are some pictures of the camera man being a blogger. (:
PS You'll even recognize the background from my own outfit here.

Colors of Autumn: Olive Green

We have come to the obvious color for fall: all dark shades of green, whether it be a forest green, olive green, whatever. It's very perfect for fall. My favorite picks include the adorable bucket hat and the military inspired vest. Vests are so perfect for layering and the military look: do I even need to introduce that to you guys? (:

Meet Tania from Fresh Fizzle

Last week, I got the amazing opportunity to interview one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Tania from Fresh Fizzle, so I'll be sharing my questions and her answers with you today. I chanced across her fashion blog not too long ago, but instantly fell in love with it. No joke. I went through every single one of her posts in the matter of two days. It is that good.
She has an adorable, very cute look, but her impeccable fashion sense can be very fierce, as well as girly and bohemian. Plus, the photography in her pictures is amazing! I'm so jealous! But anyways, let's let Tania speak for herself!

1. Since you don't have an About page, please tell us a little about yourself and what you do?
As long as I can remember, I've always been into fashion. I grew up with three older brothers and had to wear their hand-me-downs growing up, so I think becoming super girly as soon as I got the chance to was kind of my rebellion against that. It wasn't until I was halfway through college though that I thought I could possibly pursue it as a career. Currently, I do quality assurance for Google Shopping which is a very monotonous but flexible and there for very convenient and ideal-for-me job. I love it, but because it asks for so little from me, I feel the need to channel my energy and create a little something, and that's how my blog was born.

2. How did you initially started blogging, and where does the name Fresh Fizzle come from?
Well "Tanfizzle" was a nickname given to me by my friends one drunken night and so it's been my handle for a long time. Over time it got shortened to "Fizzle" or just "Fizz." I'm a big fan of alliteration so I came up with the name "Fresh Fizzle" cuz I thought it sounded catchy, and the idea was that you could visit my blog to find the latest on what I've been wearing and what I've been up to. I really wanted just "Fresh Fizz" actually but the domain name had a squatter on it so I would've had to pay $350 -_-'

3. Haha, well I like Fresh Fizzle. In just three words, how would you describe your style?
I would say it's...free-spirited, feminine, and fresh =)

4. What are your 5 essential pieces of clothing?
I think a pair of flattering jeans is a must for everyone. I like stretchy/jegging type pairs because they are most comfortable. Other than that, a leather moto jacket, a denim button-up, a Bretton-striped sweater or top, and a neutral-colored blazer are definite must-haves in building a wardrobe.

5. Shoes or bags person?
I never really thought about it but I guess I'm more of a shoes person. I actually kind of skimp on bags because they usually feel like more of an investment! I should probably think about buying more bags.

6. What is your favorite trend this fall?
I'm excited about a lot of fall trends, but the one I'm probably liking most are baseball jackets and caps! It's a very cute "borrowed from the boys" look. I'm also loving lux "baroque" prints and of course anything burgundy, bordeaux, wine, or aubergine, but of course the keyword seems to be "oxblood" this season. I think Pantone got it wrong when they named Tangerine the color of 2012 because I can't seem to go ten minutes without hearing about "oxblood"!

7. Haha, I see, going back to your childhood of wearing your brothers' hand-me-downs. (;
One last question. When you're not blogging, what are you most likely doing?
Just the usual things that every one does I guess. Blogging is my main hobby and it takes up most of my free time. I've actually had to cut out most of my favorite TV shows because I just don't have time on top of work and blogging! But, if you think about it, blogging involves a culmination of my hobbies--fashion/trends, writing, styling, photography, and even eating =).

Thank you Tania!

Colors of Autumn: Orange

Hel-looo. It is Friday, and you know what that means: a new segment of Colors of the Autumn. Last year (I think) tangerine was announced color of the year, remember that? There is definitely a reason for that. Orange and tangerine shades are so great for transition pieces from spring to summer to fall to winter. They seem to fit in almost every season. You see the bright orange swim suit cover ups with neon stacked arm candy during the summer, and the lovely orange scarf in the fall.

Orange is just such a great color. I have these orange shorts that are just so fantastic (you can see them in posts here and here) and a bright orange top perfect for the summer (post here). I definitely recommend deep browns and oranges for the fall time. How can you not love this color?

Check out other "Colors of the Autumn" colors: Tan and Burgundy.
